BatsBeginning January 1, 2018 all bats used in any Little League sanctioned event must meet the new USA Bat Standard and be marked accordingly. For more information, please visit

GlovesA good fitting, broken-in glove is important, and will give players a chance to develop good fielding skills. A glove that is too big or too stiff will make it tougher to catch the baseball, and may discourage your child. Either start with a used hand-me-down glove, or purchase the "oven oil" treatment (available at Dicks) to break in the new glove.
BaseballsFor organized activity, your team will supply balls specifically designed to meet local league guidelines. For practice at home, any standard baseball will work fine. For beginners, a tee ball is a good idea for minimizing injuries during catching and batting practice.
HelmetsBatting helmets should bear the "Approved For All Youth Baseball" stamp on them. It is recommended each child have their own helmet. Extra helmets are provided if needed.
CleatsCleats are recommended. Metal cleats are not allowed.
Athletic SupportersAll male players are required to wear athletic supporters during practice and games.
Sliding PantsStrongly recommended for players who will be sliding into base. Worn under the uniform.
